Elbow Bursitis

I’m hoping someone can help me. I have Hashimotos (related to thyroid) and saw my endocrinologist this morning. I also showed him my very swollen fluid filled elbow which I wrongly wondered might be a symptom of my Hashimotos. He said no and told me to get my GP to aspirate it no longer than Monday. He said that the GP would probably send a fluid sample to be analysed and would prescribe antibiotics. He diagnosed as elbow bursitis. He thinks there may be an infection as he could feel the fluid, the elbow is red and warm to touch. Pain is extending up my arm. My worry however is, would a GP actually do the aspiration? I don’t want to waste time on this if GP sends me elsewhere. Could it be done at VHI Swiftcare Clinic? Has anyone advice please? I don’t want to be spending money going from one place to another. I’ve already spent a small fortune seeing the endocrinologist. Thanks in advance!
