I am missing the Research Room in Pearse Street library which is closed for renovations. Would anyone have a Thom's directory for mid 1950 or suggest a library in South Dublin that has a selection?

Tallaght Library has a great collection of Thom's.

    Pearse Street Library

    Have you heard the news?

We have had some work done, and given ourselves a spring clean. We will be back open tomorrow morning from 10 am until 5 pm.

Any outstanding reserves will have extra time to be collected. Our PCs will be available, and we will have study spaces too.

We will have increased hours and services from Monday, March 21st.

    Opening Hours

The Reading Room will reopen on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 March with access by appointment only from 10.00–12.30 and 14.00–16.30.

Please order the items you want to look at in advance – E: DublinStudies@dublincity.ie or Cityarchives@dublinstudies.ie

5 items per visit. The Reading Room is still undergoing refurbishment, so at this first phase of reopening we are providing access to physical, print collections only – there will be no access to computers, microfilms or study spaces.

That is great but disappointed that there's still no computer access. I have a list for those Dublin electoral registers that the DPC made them take off line.

Their FB post states "Our PCs will be available", so you might be able to access those.

That's for the main library in general. The post for the reading room explicitly says its the physical printed collections only.

I've got a few things I want to check on the electoral rolls too now, try guess when some people left the country in the 20s.
