Is Marty Morrissey completely anti Association Football

I never see him doing any coverage of (non Gaelic) Football and he does chip in for loads of non GAA sports from time to time.

At first I thought "ah thats just his job" but I recall Jimmy Magee working on all fronts.

Am I being a conspiracy theorist or would he vote down the opening up of Croker for the Euros?

Well he has played 5 a side soccer in the past so I do t think he has anything really against the game.

Never really thought about this, but now that it's been mentioned.

I assume if you work for Rte sports dept you would have to be available to work/commentate on any sport if needed. So I'm guessing Rte have never really needed him for a football match. Ever.

He has even swapped over and covered for rte radio 1 hosts like Tubs at times, which would not be his area of expertise, but he usually fares well.

Thing is, there is always enough talk going on around the gaa to keep him busy, especially in the last decade or so, when the marketing of the gaa has gone into overdrive.

Marty being confined to Gaa is a blessing for other sports. Though Gaa fans have my sympathys. He's a dreadful commentator

Marty is a nice lad, inherently likeable, and always competent when he stands in for Tubs or presents a light-entertainment show on the TV. What he isn’t is a particularly good sports commentator.

At this stage I think everyone needs to be extra vigilant about people talking out of their hats on the internet; whether twould be RTE’s non-existent “sports commentators have to be an expert on every sport” policy or the possibility of neo-Nazis running the Ukraine. Falsehoods are falsehoods.
