EWSS porting mortgage trouble

    Hi all,

We got approval in feb to port our mortgage and get an additional 40K from PTSB, went sale agreed on a home and ust gone sale agreed on the sale of our own house. PTSB is now saying that we cant draw down the porting of the mortgage and the additional 40k untill my partner s employer is off the EWSS scheme. How likely is this to happen at the end of April as stated by Minister O'Gorman? If it is not wound down does this EWSS affect just the additional 40k or also the fact that we are tryng to 'port' our current mortgage to he new house (we are staying with PTSB so not switching banks or anything). The overall cost (inclusive of the additional 40k) is only an additional 300euro a month over 15 years and my wages (permanent wholetime public sector job 2 points from top of benchmarked scale) covers the overall cost of the mortgage and the additional funds twice over. What are our potential options if the EWSS scheme is prolonged? Surely it cant be right that nobody in the childcare industry can get a mortgage... as my wife has been 12 years wth the same employer on a full time contract with the business exanding each year.

Any advice would be welcome as the stress is brutal even without this, which has just been sprung on us.

    Thanks
