Importing non-firing replica

    Hi,

Quick question for anyone who's imported replicas from the U.S.

I just ordered a vintage non-firing replica from an eBay seller in New York. It's actually a rare accessory for a video game console that came out in the 1970s, but in terms of color, size and shape, it's pretty accurate to a rifle.

So AnPost/AddressPAL are saying that they won't be able to ship it because the TSA could potentially delay the entire pallet of other customers' orders to inspect an X-ray outline of what looks like a rifle (or they might just claim "Shipment contains weapon" and return the entire dispatch of 300-500 parcels back to the AddressPAL warehouse).

Just wondering if I could get advice from anyone has experience in importing realistic-looking items, or if there are any specialist couriers that would deal with this sort of thing? (the original seller is only able to ship within the U.S.)

    Many thanks

Can you get this whatever broken down into 2 parcels? Might be the easiest way to do this?

Or,do you have any relations over whom you could get it mailed and they mail it with USPS and a customs/US mail declaration that this is a non-firing electronic game part?
