A young gay rugby player was viciously assaulted by another man in the early hours of Sunday last at the corner of Dame Street and South Great Georges Street. The attacker yelled homophobic slurs including the F word before assaulting him which left him with several injuries.

Really depressing how such attacks are still happening in the year 2022. It just goes to show that homophobia is still very much alive and well among certain cohorts of Irish society and that despite all the tremendous progress made over the past 30 years or so, we can never be complacent.
