Are guns covered under house insurance?

Do i have to tell my house insurance i own firearms or are they covered by default and would telling them i own firearms increase my insurance due to added risk of theft.

Having a top of the range german car in your driveway should increase your house premium though

Check with your insurer, as policies differ. They most likely aren't covered and need to be listed at an additional cost.

I contacted my insurance company to discuss this and after a brief conversation there was a slight increase but this was due to the value of the firearms and accessories, not because of the items themselves (IOW not because they were firearms, but that the additional value of them and my current content cover being too low). It was minimal and the insurance company had no "issues" with firearms being on the premises.

I have my firearms listed on my home insurance policy, again only a slight increase.
