Don't worry newsoph I got ya! Been itching to post it up again with a bit of excitement haha

From 0-150 in the space of a few month seems like really hopeful progress.. Best of luck to everyone who got the call.

Looking forward to the regular updating of our very own merit list!

Let’s hope those of us in the top 150 will get a fast track of some sort. Can’t see many of us being appointable this side of summer even if stuff picks up soon

Can’t see them doing a squad in July.

If these are full strength in May and June then that’ll leave the deferrals just from 2020, could see next squad in August (earliest)/ September (more likely) that will be deferrals from 2020 mixed in with first appointables from 2021. That’s my gut feeling anyway!

I got another email this morning. Time to 🏃‍♂️ 👏🏼 looks like a few has dropped out. Considering I’m now in the 150…

  • Registered Users Posts: 60 ✭✭ynwa22

Just got the email myself🙌 was originally just out of the top 150 mark so must have been a few drop outs..

  • Registered Users Posts: 72 ✭✭georgie1305

Thats good to know, as I was wondering if there would be people above the 150, that are now actually in the bracket from drop outs 🤔

I would say with the time it has taken and changes in peoples circumstances, that quite a few have decided to leave it.

This is great news! Finally our list has movement!

I’m at the 600 mark so hoping the remaining stages for me will start before the year finishes 😀

Can anyone give any insight as to where on the merit list they are if they have been emailed and are above the 150? E.g Under 175 or under 200? I’m not far over 300 and just changed Career because I was thinking it will be about 2 years before any movement with my merit number. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Also congrats on everyone who got an email today!

    I'm under 175

  • Registered Users Posts: 138 ✭✭Blueandtwo1320

Brilliant to see the momentum again!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 138 ✭✭Blueandtwo1320

Yes I was thinking along this sort of time frame too.

Time to get the ball rolling ladies and gents! Wish all of you top 150 the best of luck! My time won’t come until next year!

  • Registered Users Posts: 147 ✭✭Starsky1

For those who are in the top 150, what is the next stages? Have yous got dates for medical or fitness test? Or will vetting documents get sent out?

I may get this fitness up and running again 😂😂

  • Registered Users Posts: 147 ✭✭Narwahls

I assume vetting papers come first then called for physical and medical if you pass that - hope the physical isn’t that soon (I chose a really convenient time to bang up my knee pretty badly)

  • Registered Users Posts: 249 ✭✭NeeNaw21

Those with PCA dates coming up, you don't have to be mad fit to pass the PCA just decent cardio and functional movements.

You don't have to start a whole gym programme or any of that nonsense.

Some interval training with sit ups and press ups will do you well.

Do the sit ups and press ups after you've ran to make it more realistic compared to the PCA.

Also find a 6ft wall and get used to getting over it. From a stationary position. No run ups allowed.

    Well done everyone! Good luck

  • Registered Users Posts: 197 ✭✭crazyfire999

Why sit ups and press ups?

    Sit ups core strength

    Press ups upper body strength

    ....

    fair fair

  • Registered Users Posts: 225 ✭✭Boneyard2002

Have you got any other correspondence yet about your medical or did you just miss the barrel

  • Registered Users Posts: 46 new2022scs

@NeeNaw21 please tell me the video evidence of the physical is accurate with the lip on the wall????

  • Registered Users Posts: 60 ✭✭forumnewbie21

    It's accurate.

  • Registered Users Posts: 66 ✭✭mse2020

It is accurate, also be careful not to miss any obstacles, if you do you will be asked to go back to the start of the obstacle you missed and this really can hurt your time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 197 ✭✭crazyfire999

Won’t be long coming around I’m sure 👍🏼

  • Registered Users Posts: 147 ✭✭Narwahls

For those given a pca date have they started giving out vetting forms?

With regard to PCA, I got 4-6 weeks notice.

Yes to familiarisation day. The details to that are further down the email.

No update on vetting but I imagine it’ll be a week or so before that comes back.
