The team who cried wolf there, after play acting and feigning injury from get go I was shouting "ara would you get up" but there was actually a decent amount of blood on that lad there.

Antonio with the shirt reefed off him and then dragged to the ground. Free kick Fiorentina.

West Hams midfield is just AWOL here, is Moyes holding Rice back or is he just overrated??

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,449 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Over 20 minutes played before the referee finally awards West Ham a free.

I wish West Ham would play like this against United just once.

    Glazers Out!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,449 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

That is absolutely disgraceful refereeing. And from the linesman.

What swimming pool was Benrahma aiming for there? 🤔 Awful dive and rightfully booked.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,449 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Absolute morons in the West Ham crowd.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,945 ✭✭✭omega man

Scum fans letting their club down badly

West Ham playing like it's the Premier League and they need to park the bus rather than go for it.

West Ham fans being their usual selves.

Christ that was a poor quality dive from Benrahma... leaping over like a salmon, with his two feet glued together. Could see it was a dive from a million miles away - and had he just run through after his bit of skill he'd have had a pop on goal.

<edit> fck sake, west ham fans have lamped something at Biraghi, given him a nasty cut.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,513 ✭✭✭tinpib

Wonderful West Ham fans throwing empty plastic cups. Fupping eejits.

Looking forward to hearing how the British media will spin it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,770 ✭✭✭Flaneur OBrien

What was it that drew blood from the crowd? A flare cartridge?

Unless it was in that plastic cup, one bounced off his head where he has the cut.

    Absolute clowns, a disgrace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,417 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Looks like they stuck loads of plastic cups together and got him in the head.

There was also what looked like a banger or something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,901 ✭✭✭hynesie08

Looked like a disposable vape, so whoever threw it was already a twat.

This is an incredibly boring match for a final.

Are they? I can understand teams can be reluctant to attack because of counter attacks, but there's usually a team that wants to win it in 90 minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,198 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Yeah, finals (of anything, not just football) tend to be a bit disjointed, with the nerves and stakes and inherent conservatism leading to a bit of an uneven slog often as not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,358 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Good save initially from Areola, but made a bit of a clanger on the rebound. It's been ruled out for offside, but VAR are taking a long time to confirm either way.

    It's been ruled out eventually.

Any final involving a David Moyes side was never going to be for the purists.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,211 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

    Poor game. 2 bad sides.

I have a new idea, if these finals end 0-0, no-one wins the trophy. Records show "no winner"

That would shake them up a bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,417 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Fantastic breakdown and "highlights" of Antonio doing nothing there on Virgin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,041 ✭✭✭Pipmae

Brutal match so far. Hoping it improves in the second half.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,449 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Referee has not been subtle at all about his bias. How on earth is that a yellow card?

Excellent from Coufal. We scored a goal against Gent with a similar throw in from him. Beautiful penalty though my heart was in my mouth with his celebration. Could see that ref giving a second yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,970 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

Is Robbie Savage really the best BT Sport can do for a co-commentator for a European final? Maybe it's like when you've played the reserve keeper all the way through the cup run you're kind of obliged to pick him for the final...

  • Registered Users Posts: 520 ✭✭✭hurlingman97

Is it not usually a yellow card if you jump into the crowd to celebrate?

    Would have been a red.
