Any uses for potato waste?

Just wondering if anybody knows a use for potato waste rather than throwing it in landfill? I mean the eyes and bad bits of potato that are cut off, rather than peels. Compost seems obvious, but who would take 30 - 40 kilos of waste per week?

Our recycling centre has a composting section. They take grass cuttings and tree cuttings. And then give the resulting compost away free. Would there be something like that near you?

You could get a composter of your own. You will be amazed at how quickly your 40kg of waste reduces down to nothing. You might find you need two composters to keep up with that volume of waste but if you have room for composters it's a very effective way of disposing of your potato peels.

Bonus: You get compost! If you have no use for it yourself someone you know will be glad to use it.

Possibly, but it'd be the bad bits off the potato. Would there be any nett gain in nutrition for them?

The local recycling centre doesn't have a thing for compost - just landfill. I haven't got the space for a composter, and tbh I'm hoping to find someone who has a use for it who will come and take it away - composting it myself still leaves me with stuff to get rid of.

It came with the house and nothing has been taken out of it in well over a decade. I don't use it for grass cuttings because they seem to slow the rotting process down but everything else goes into it. At the moment it looks less than half full.

If composters aren't for you, try posting on freecycle, you might be able to come to an arrangement with somebody who will take your waste away.

Horses love potato peelings, if there are stables nearby ask if they want them, or even if there are horses in a nearby field then drop it to them.

If it could be used as animal feed, that would be great, but I'm not sure if it would be suitable. This isn't potato peels with a small amount of bad bits (eyes, bruises, etc.) mixed in - it's all bad bits.
