I'd say you have it, I felt feverish last night, sore throat came up this morning, tired now boss, real tired.

The PCR is more sensitive but not infallible .

If it is negative you have to be guided by symptoms and stay away until you improve.

You should not be going to work in any case until you get your result .

Are you worried that work will say something?

If neg just get your GP to write a sick note , you are just being decent not spreading whatever you have around and employers really have to accept that post pandemic .

PCR is usually not necessary if antigen is positive but antigens are excellent at picking it up and should be trusted. You shouldn't go to work either way, no matter how they're fixed.

The Antigens never picked up that I had Covid. Was positive on PCR & I had symptoms.

Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan, now looks set to attend the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, despite an initial test he took which indicated the presence of Covid-19.

Following his initial positive test result for Covid-19 yesterday (Saturday, November 6), Minister Ryan, received notification from the Health Service Executive (HSE) that a second test was recommended.

This result of this test showed that Covid-19 was not detected. The public health advice in this instance is that the case is denotified, close contacts are informed and the person can continue about their business.

I went back to work last Monday week after over 7 days of isolation and a passing Antigen . This week I quite quite off . My job is quite physical so I was feeling a bit exhausted but since I had no upper respiratory symptoms and I was getting a neg result on the antigen I toughed it out and kept going in. On thursday morning I woke very tired . I texted my manager and told them Id be coming in late as I was going for a PCR test . Got the text from the HSE yesterday evening to say I still have it . Does this mean I have to isolate for another 7 days and not go to work?

Pcr will be positive for weeks if not months after. Get back to work there is nothing wrong with you.

Actually. the PCR test could be positive weeks after the infection. That was confirmed bt HSE booklet and by person managing the bookings for PCR.

"Could" and "does" are not the same thing. Most people would only return a positive PCR for a week or so. Is a pretty moot point at this stage though as getting a PCR is a purely academic exercise at this stage.

HSE recomends that you should not take another PCR test within 3 months after being positive. Thats what I've been told by HSE staff.
