    Hi,

The time has come to make some difficult decisions, unfortunately an elderly, very dear family member has been diagnosed with dementia and also have a lot medical needs. We have been told by the hospital that the person needs 24 hour care. We are unable to give the time that this person they need to look after them properly as everyone is working and has tried to work together while this person was at home but that person ended up getting sick again and very unwell and we now feel we can't provide the care and attention they need. We received home help for 3 hours a day but this was not enough. The person is bed bound and this happened very quickly and may not ever walk again and the person is very angry as how things have turned out for them and often has outbursts and shouts at family and not with the carers and nurses that is why we feel it would be better for them and less stressful for them If they went to a nursing home or can it work in a person's home with the right carers . Thanks

This has no relation to boards.ie. Try asking in a forum that's related to the topic instead, such as the Clare forum
