Jeep trailer on tractor

Hi, I'm wondering is a jeep trailer suitable for a tractor? I'm talking a 14ft Hudson on a 100Hp tractor. Not doing big milage... thanks

No problem - only thing you need to make sure is that you trailer is sitting level on the hitch so that the weight is spread evenly on the axles.

As funkey said above ensure that whatever coupling option you use that it (the trailer) is sitting level behind the tractor to avoid additional stress on the rear most axle.

A jeep trailer is built to withstand the forces imposed by a jeep so just bear that in mind when using it behind the tractor. You'll get stuck in a rough spot with a jeep but the tractor will keep going. It's easy to twist the trailer chassis or otherwise damage it when towing with a tractor but if you drive with any much cop that shouldn't be an issue.

You would almost have to make up a special hitch for the tractor if the tractor is on higher wheels then r34

Someone was asking about this recently... Not sure who or on what thread. I remember replying with some photos.

I seen a lovely one at the mart recently when unloading, but by the time I got my stock off and sorted it was gone before I could get a photo.

Get a small chain to wrap around the jockey wheel when it is lifted to act as a fail safe for when the clamp loosens.

Use a 14 ft behind the tractor regularly no issues. As said before make sure the hitch is fairly level with the trailer
