Public consultation Wild Birds Declaration 2022-2023
Only 87 submissions sent in last year...see below
Control of Certain Wild Bird Species
The current Wild Bird Declarations (located here) signed by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, allowing for the control of certain wild bird species, are due to expire on 30 April 2022.
The Declarations allow the control of certain wild bird species where these species are causing serious damage to crops, livestock, fisheries, forestry, flora and fauna or where they represent a threat to public health/safety, throughout the State. There are two separate Declarations, one general State-wide Declaration, and one to allow the control of certain wild bird species by airport authorities or their agents throughout the State where these species represent a threat to air-safety. A link to both of the current Declarations is below.
As part of its review of the Wild Birds Declarations, the Department is seeking any proposals for changes to the existing Declarations.
Accordingly, any comments/proposals you may wish to make should be submitted to the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, via e-mail: WildBirdDeclarations@housing.gov.ie

A lot of angry people regarding the Gull issues in Dublin.
People love to love nature, until its not convenient for them or ruins their flowerbed then its amazing how quickly they want the " Bambi murderers" to do something.
