Lambs on multi specie sward

I reseeded with a multi species sward.I was planning on weaning lambs on putting them to it is there a danger of bloat doing this

I wouldn't say so - what species mix is it?? I have been weaning lambs on a natural ley of plantain, dandelion etc. for the last few years and it has proved itself in terms of lamb thrive, near elimination of antibiotic use etc.

About 15 weaned lambs per hectare atm - thrive in terms of lack of scour issues was my main point

Given we were discussing weight gain/day a few posts above, would you know this by any chance?

I haven’t had any scour issues either this year. Now - it’s been a good enough year weather wise. My lambs are half texel. I am very under stocked, so they are going into fields that could be cut for hay nearly…

Which one of these factors influenced more than the other, hard to say…

Just wondering what the performance you are seeing on the plantain mix…

Mix includes

plantain,chicory,1.5kgs red clover and 1.5kgs white clover
