Can I use a HDMI splitter to connect 2 HDMI devices to a TV which has only 1 HDMI port?

Title says it all. Parents have a TV with only 1 HDMI port at the back and to turn on sky then have to disconnect one HDMI and connect in another. Its a bit of a nuisance so I'd like to make things a little easier for them

Yes, but only 1 device can be powered on at any one time. I used to use one to share between the TV box and PlayStation.

That TV is either very old or has a tiny screen size. I recently retired a 2008 19" Philips TV which had 2 x HDMI, Scart and composite. Tell your parents to buy a new TV, it's just not worth the hassle they will have switching, let alone investing in a new gadget. And if there's no USB port on the TV, they will need an additional power socket to source a 5v DC supply for that switch - probably via a phone charger. Because that HDMI switch in the Amazon link comes with a cable but not a power adapter...
