Overhead SIRO + wall insulation?

Looking for advice on SIRO install for house which has external wall insulation following a major renovation. Our electricity supply will be coming in overhead via pole (previously connected to chimney but this has been removed). ESB have suggested the new meter is placed externally nearby (meter box cut into wall insulation).

For an overhead install, will SIRO run the fibre into ESB meter box, or can it be run elsewhere? The main circuit breaker will be located in utility. Any suggestions how we can facilitate a SIRO install with this setup?

For me, they ran the fibre overhead to the house wall and drilled through to the sitting room. They didn't go near the meter box at all. Other houses on the road are done the same way.

I have seen several mentions on boards & elsewhere that's SIRO (and other broadband providers) will not fix anything to or drill through External Wall Insulation to effect installation. You might want to check this out with them.

External Insulation can be damaged easily in many ways, a lot of installers learn the hard way.

Thanks. I'm guessing you didn't have external insulation where they drilled? Would you have an approximate idea of the length of fibre they ran from the point where it is attached to the house to where they drilled?

Yes, have seen that too, but they seem to a few mentions on boards more recently that they will work with EWI. But anyone with actual experience of this and how it was achieved would be great.

Happy to provide ducting but not sure that would be suitable between the internal ONT and the external customer service point/"grey box".
