2 aerial cables - 1 port

So like all TVs there is single aerial connection port which is currently used by a fly lead from a Freeview box. To view the channels on the TV I have to switch on the Freeview box each evening and then put it on standby. Its never really used these days for recording stuff but Id like to retain that option. Id prefer to have the aerial cable running directly to the TV but then its more bother to remove it and hook up the box again any time I wish to record something. So is there any type of gadget or fitting that I can use that would allow me to combine an aerial lead and fly lead into a single lead which then goes into the TV and be able to switch back and forward between the 2?

Do you want to feed both devices at the same time from a single connection from an aerial?

One of these, if you have enough signal.

You could just leave it in standby. It probably would use very little power.

But I wouldn't fault you if you did want to switch it off completely.

Thanks. I have an aerial cable running into a splitter/booster with 4 outputs I think but only one of these is currently in use which is the one that runs to the Freeview box. The other 3 outputs are not being used so Id like to run one of those direct to the TV. But as mentioned above Id also like to keep the lead from the box to the TV just for the odd time I do record/view a programme. The telly is in a tight corner so Im trying to avoid having to change the inputs every now and then if possible.

To watch the Freeview and Saorview channels we have to turn the TV and box on and then put the box in standby. It would be a lot handier for us to have an aerial lead going directly into the telly and leave the box turned off but would like some simple way of not having to switch inputs manually the odd time the box is used.

I would connect a new aerial connection from the booster to the tv leaving the original still connected to the freeview box. Then take the flylead out of the freeview box and throw it in the bin. (literally). Then connect the freeview box to the tv with a hdmi or scart connection and switch the tv to that input when you want to use the freeview box.

That sounds exactly like what I want to do. I'll give it a shot later.

I already have a HDMI cable going from the box to the TV. The fly lead is there to watch TV only so replacing it with a lead from the booster will get the desired result. I'm stupid when it comes to sorting these things.
