    Hi Folks,

I have an old Marantz PM4001 and a pair of Monitor Audio BX5 floor standers gathering dust in the attic. If I got them down would they be ok with the AIWA APX680BT turntable?

    Cheers,

    Heighway

I see the turntable has a larger footprint than the amp. What would be the best way to stack it above the amp?

    Hi Heighway61,

    Thanks for the post!

It would work with it no problem but I wouldn't recommend stacking the turntable on top of the amp for a couple of reasons. First if it's larger you won't get a stable footing for the turntable and secondly it can block vents on the amp. Are you able to set it to the side of the amplifier? The other option would be a floating shelf a few inches above the amp?

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

Hi David, thanks for the reply.

It's going into a young fellas bedroom that has very little room left to spare. I was thinking about putting the two devices on top of a chest with the speakers either side. Would any suitable, two level, minimalist stand exist that would let me do that? I'll have a look around.

Edit: think I have a stand sorted.
