That building!!! It's like a big over sized bungalow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,713 ✭✭✭BabysCoffee

I hope it works out for them!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

I don't like the new way of wrapping the program up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,713 ✭✭✭BabysCoffee

It would be a good place for those natural burial sites where you get buried in a field, etc and there is no headstones or markers just a field of wild flowers etc

I think they are only legal in UK currently

Yeah I agree as someone said last week it feels very unfinished

Best of luck to Millstreet country park !!

Good luck to them, the cycling is a good start but they really need someone to keep pushing new ideas and follow them through.

It looks like a nice place, it would be a shame if they had to close it.

    That sounds lovely.

I liked your man's philosophy "we should leave the place in a better state than we find it". Fair play to him.

Were the boys on a wind-up with the crematorium  I find it really hard to believe there were actually serious

Other episodes involved the brothers practically putting bombs under the business owners to make them do stuff - these guys put a serious amount of effort in in what seemed like a very short time to get all those trails done!

Another nice outfit that I'd wish only well to :)

    Not long left...

"Hoteliers Francis and John Brennan help artist Leonie Finn, owner of Oranmore Castle in County Galway as she strives to make the building sustainable for future generations. The brothers soon realise that her plan to let out the handful of bedrooms is unrealistic, but are certain more money is to be made from the cottage in the grounds"

    :)

This series is gone off on a tangent, seems to be concentrating on much "bigger" businesses than the B&B's and small hotels of previous ones.

The last two episodes had very likeable subjects, wonder if that can keep up - or will the usual cranks and crackpots start to appear.....

That's quite a house to inherit, never mind to live in on an ongoing basis!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

    Whoa

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

It's very well furnished for a place that's not actually lived in (just to contradict my earlier post!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

Surely this can only be rented for films and photo shoots

    Maybe weddings????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

    Or tours?

    Or cooking classes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    The laugh of her!!! :D

That crochet throw would be gorgeous on top of plain white crisp bedlinen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

"How many Bedrooms do you have"

    "Eh, about five, I think"

    Ah, we've all been there.

I feel cold looking at it! Brrr! :D

I love John and Francis re Americans, they are so funny!
Great publicity for yer wan's art anyway...

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,963 ✭✭✭Meangadh

God you'd need millions to do that place up. It would be a cool place to stay but as it is it's so damp and pokey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Haha - the brothers politely declining the invitation to stay (aka running a mile)!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,966 ✭✭✭✭syklops

That place looks like the Medieval Zone from the Crystal Maze.

Yer ones laugh is something else.

"We're really self sufficient ... for three months of the year".

You'd wonder what they do the other 9.

I should point out, that I grew up about 5 miles from there and never knew the castle existed.

Brrr, I'm not surprised they declined to stay:D.

I just love Francis..........id hate to meet him in person and discover he was a right pr**k

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Well as much as the castle is gorgeous, and she's as mad as a box of frogs (with a honking laugh to match) - it's definitely not the most riveting of these programmes ever made....

I was at a big dinner event recently, and he was at a table near to me.... only for I was working and couldn't really go wandering I'd definitely have made my way over there under any pretext, to see what he was really like!

Anyone I know who's met him thinks he's a legend, I can't see him being any different off camera than on - think that's the secret to the brothers' success on TV, pure naturals!

I know of some one who know him from trips to Lourdes (or maybe medagourie) and they said he is the nicest, funniest I'll most genuine person they ever met.

I'd say he's lovely in real life too! Can't imagine him being any different :)

She has a laugh like black adder the first

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,963 ✭✭✭Meangadh

She seems a good tour guide- it's a job I did for three years and worked with a few borefests but I like her style.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

Everytime they put on an event to show off a pub/castle/hotel/hostel whatever on this programme ... I reckon most people come to meet Francis.

I'd say it's a roller for printing or something

That's a cool tour being allowed sit on the beds and pose etc

  • Registered Users Posts: 750 ✭✭✭Tisserand

Fancy Francis not noticing there was no toilet...

Ah yeah but they might come back (even on the off-chance that Francis might be visiting!)

Ah Eddie Lenihan! Haven't seen him in years!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

He used to be on the Den years ago.

    He hasn't shaved since.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

How much have you sold..... eh, nothing.

    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    Wow, that cottage looks amazing!

Mind you, not very "cottagey", looks positively palatial

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,186 ✭✭✭dee_mc

She's a real artist... oh I suppose I would sell it, depending on the price... but there's no price on it... oops!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,963 ✭✭✭Meangadh

Haha! Was just about to say the parasol thing looked ridiculous!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

Ha ha the umbrella on Francis! :)

That cottage looks great. Quirky. But great.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

I think Francis should have volunteered to have his face painted, start the ball rolling!
