Call me cynical, but this looks like he was going to do all this anyway regardless of what the Brennans advised.

He just wanted the publicity of being on one of the most popular shows in the Country.

I did a bit of snooping, I don't think he owns it at all. It's the family who bought it.

After weeks of speculation its been confirmed that The West County in Clare's County Town has been sold with the Waterford based Treacy Hotel Group expected to take over in March.

However yesterday staff were called into a meeting with management and informed that the hotel had been sold to the Waterford based Treacy Hotel Group- The family run business already operates hotels in Waterford City and Enniscorthy.

He must be crazy .. investing 600k in a hotel when every other hotel is closing down, or NAMA'd and offering rooms for nothing...

It's a nice looking hotel, but there's gorgeous hotels up and down the country that look really well but still arent selling rooms...

I'd say amdub is right about the parents footing the bill.... She's not right about much but I guess even a broken clock is right twice..

Any chance of a revisited style few episodes. Grand designs style. Quick recap followed by a new visit and catch up. Could do a few in each episode. Show what has worked and what hasn't and who followed through.
