If one of you could take a video on your phone of Francis saying hello to the Boardies, that you could later post here ... that would be epic!

No pressure, only if you get a chance.

    What time is this at???

If I get finished with boat business (highly unlikely!), might be tempted to drop in myself.......

We should organise an impromptu Boards / At Your Service Beers in honour of the occasion!

I can picture it so clearly already!

"Where do you want me ... in here is it? Well hello there, all you lovely people on Boards, John and I love reading what you have to say about the show, you're very good, and I hope you enjoy the book, and you'll all have to come down to Kenmare to say hello! Will that do?"

Anyone ever go to these Easons signings? Will I need to start queuing early?!

it's a bit hit and miss BC ... I met Gay Byrne at one and there was no more than 50 people at it. But I couldn't get in to see Commander Chrisn Hadfield (the astronaut)

I'd say you wouldn't need to queue, but if you want to be certain head in a little bit early.

    Mini trip report.
    Francis Brennan booksigning Easons 04/10/14
    Book "It's the Little Things"

Myself and my sister (let's call her Amdub2) arrived into Easons at 2.45 (booksigning was starting at 3pm) and purchased our books and got into the queue to meet with Francis. The books were priced at €14.99 each, but "buy one and get one half price". Amdub2 had not planned on getting one but with that deal we figured we would.

An Easons staff member came along and asked each person what you'd like Francis to write in the book and she wrote it in on a post-it to stick on the inside of the book.

The queue was not huge - but it was a good size, neither big nor small I'd describe it.
Francis arrived out to start the signing at the dot of 3pm - well it is a book on manners isn't it!

He had a nice word and a smile with each person and had no bother posing for photos.

When we got up to him Amdub2 passed in her book on which we wanted written "To amdub2 and amdub"

The full conversation with Francis went like this (special mention for us boardsies!):
    Francis: "Hello girls!"
Amdub2: "Hi Francis", [pushed her book in and pointed to the names], "I'm amdub2", and I said "and I'm amdub"

A2: "We're really looking forward to reading the book"
F: Oh aren't you very kind [smiling and signing anyway]

A2: [pushing in the next book] "and this one is a bit more complicated"
    "To the folks at boards.ie"
    *Great excitement*
F: "oh you're notttt one of them are ye?!" (in shrieky Francis voice!)
Us: "we are, yes yes we are" :pac:
F: "John is always telling me, 'they said this, and they said that'"
Us: "Yes, yes! And then John comes in at the end of every series and says something and we all love that!"

F: "Now! I better get this right. To-the-folks-at-boards-dot-ie"
His pen/ink did a big splodge after boards (see pic!) and I said "there's the dot!" And we all laughed.
F: "Lovely meeting you, and say hello to all those yahooooos :pac: over on boards" *big smile/laugh*
    Us: *laughing* "Thank you Francis!"

And then we got a photo with him.

    Awwwwwww! *Sigh*

I'm raging I didn't go in yesterday as I'd love to meet him, he always comes across as such a nice man. However my lovely husband told me this morning that he has booked us a weekend in the Park Hotel for my birthday! I am so excited already and I've got five months to wait!!!

Plus report back here on your Park experience!

    Nice work, amdublin :)

It's mad to think John and Francis discuss what we say on the thread. Maybe Boards could arrange a Q&A Session with them here sometime. That would be great.

Great to hear Francis was as nice as you would expect him to be. I hope he gets a good turnout at his other book signings.

I'm guessing that Francis was in The Brownies...

He's right about the signage though. It does look awful.. Looks like it's at a dangerous spot on the road as well..
In fairness Francis would want to practice what he preaches about signage their hotel in Kenmare has feck all signage  I know someone that went there during the summer and had great trouble finding it because they had no signage.

I'll arrange a time for this competition - likely straight after the first episode of the new series - and we can all meet here for it.

    Bit of craic :)

I see there is an 'At Your Service - To The Rescue' Special on New Year's Eve at 9.15pm. It's an unusual timeslot, you might want to set your video to tape it if you are heading out that night.

Some of the listings have the details for last years show, but I did a bit of a google and found this:
