When the brothers came to Adare, Seán and Bridie also owned The Pink Potato, a chipper beside the bar. However, they decided to close it last September as more and more people came to the bar for food.

“At the end of the day, do you want to go into McDonald’s or do you want to come in here? We’re not a whole pile more expensive than your average McDonald’s,” added Seán

Gone since September 2012 according to this. :( It didn't last too long after the show was broadcast.

But their Pub seems to be going alright.

Typical RTE, repeats that are out dated.

Seems a bit pointless showing it again if the place closed.

I hope the Brennan brothers are being paid residuals.

I wish John Brennan would stay around a bit longer and do a Q&A with us.

I'd love to know why he suggested a crematorium for that park. That was a bit off the wall.

Ah to be fair I wouldn't go that far...

Also iirc the writing was on the wall with this one so it is almost self-fulfilling watching this and knowing it is now gone. They weren't the smartest knives in the drawer iirc and didn't do things (the tablecloths!!!!) that the Brennans told them to do.

Yeah I remember it now. I remember the argument over the building.

Why "The Pink Potato?" .. I suppose "The Hungry Pig" was already taken..

I have some green bread in my bread bin that would go nicely with the pink chips..

Okay what do we have up next? (RTE, Tv3 etc only please)

Just paint the table tops pink.. how difficult is that... The way those 18th century rounded tablecloths hang down the side of the table make you feel like you've walked in to Peig Saors' kitchen..

The problem with Adare is that it's too full of American tourists - the type that would nurse a glass of Guinness for about 3 hours. They wouldn't spend Christmas, let alone spend a few quid in The Pink Potato.

They could have done a quick update at the end.

Anyone planning a roadtrip to The Pink Potato on the strength of that show will be disappointed.

    Edit.
    Grrrrrrrrrr *mad face*

I've said this many times but the show needs to be at least 45 minutes long.. Not enough time to cover everything in 30 mins, especially with the ad break.

Why dont they swop with Dermot Bannon, whose show is now an hour long... And it only takes him 15 mins to f**k the whole thing up...
