Carlow is a very under-rated County. Some lovely places to visit and you won't meet friendlier people anywhere.

    And hello everyone :)

That cabin could be lovely for romantic breaks if it was refurbished.

She seems very nice and I get the feeling that you'd get a good welcome and decent feed if you stayed with her.

God, I'd love to live in a converted barn - buy one, do it up! Ah well, I shall have to keep waiting on those magic 6 numbers to turn up for me I guess! :(

They should have a prize of a stay in the highlighted hotel / B&B each week.

Is the husband wearing Jack Duckworth glasses?.

Money seems to be no issue here.

I'd prefer the barn to be a little bit more rustic. The ceiling is just a bit too finished for my liking.

A hashtag would suit the show as well. Would not take much to get threading, and would be good for the show and the venue.

    Now, Raw or Mr Selfridge?

    Mr Selfridge I think :pac:

    Ballinasloe next week !
Hoteliers John and Francis Brennan head to Hayden's Hotel, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, which was taken on in 2008 by three brothers who had no previous experience in the industry. The continuing recession has thwarted their plans for developing the business and harmed the establishment's reputation for staging first-class wedding receptions. The commercial masterminds aim to help the owners combat a lack of experience and knock the enterprise into shape

"three brothers who had no previous experience in the industry". And in the middle of a recession.

Ah lads, you don't need to be Francis or John Brennan to know that there were going to be problems there.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,677 ✭✭✭Eyepatch

I used to know that Hayden's hotel long ago when it was a family-owned and run business. At that time, they depended a lot on custom from neighboring Athlone town. Taking it on would be quite a challenge in the present economic climate. Good luck to Francis and John!
