Smart Meter - View realtime usage

We have a kamstrup rm106 smart meter and I'm trying to see if there is a way to view the active usage on the display. I'm battling some high bills at the moment and trying to see what's using the most in the house by turning off the circuits and seeing the usage drop etc but the display only seems to show the total usage and that for each tariff (day, night peak).

Does anyone know how to via the real time actual draw within the house? The electric ireland site only seems to aggregate the data into 30 min blocks.

No, that's only returning data to ESBn via a communication network, the data is being aggregated by the meter at 30 min intervals.

To have a better overview of your instantaneous usage, get a clamp-meter such as the Intuition-e or similar.

There is a device here on Amazon but I'm not 100% sure if it works with the Kamstrup meters. It monitors the blinking light and converts it into how many units you are using in real time. I'm going to look more into it before deciding if it will work or not.

A utter disgrace Imo that it doesn't display the instantaneous power. I think the 'blinking" blinking led blinks at the rate of 1000 blinks/kwh, my 50 year old Feranti disc rotates 225/ kwh so much easier to count and then calculate the power.

In the mean time, back to the future, time in secs how long it takes the LED to blink say 5 times, power = (5X3600/time in secs) watts.

ie 5 blinks in 40 secs = 5X3600/40, 450watts. 5 blinks in 9 secs = 5X3600/9, 2000 watts.
