Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Just wondering is there anywhere that supplies small scale stainless steel sheets? Only looking for a few 300mm x 300mm x 2mm squares, not fussy on grade or even thickness.

Or would I be better off just hitting up some local light engineering crew and seeing have they offcuts knocking about?

Check you local big builders merchants/hardware store. Some have selections of small pieces of sheet and box sections of SS, Ally, brass and steel. Another one to check is B&Q as they stock the same.

Did not know that. Probably pick some up online so if that's the case.

    Cheers, it's appreciated.

I checked B&Q online but didn't see any. I know they always used to have a little display section with sheet metals and box sections. The sort of thing a model maker might use. My local builders merchants has the same display - I recently got a sheet of Aluminium to make up washers to hold the heat shield around my cars exhaust in place.

Not sure if the supplier if the local builders merchants had SS might have only been polished steel but heres another idea ;-)

A couple of stainless steel baking trays https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08HJ2CDJK/ - just cut the bottoms out.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Ah. I picked up two stainless steel trays in Lidl recently. Think they might be shaped rather than flat though. Must keep an eye out.

    Cheers for the suggestions!
