Window question: Can I use standard MDF for window reveals or do I need the moisture resistant stuff?

Moisture resistant would be better in case of condensation build up but I don't think it has to be used.

Also moisture resistant mdf gives a better finish for painting along the cut edge

    definetly go for MR MDF

then seal all the hidden edges with primer or silicone. bin primer is great for this

Thanks La Shovelle and The_Pen_turner for the advice! I know plasterboard is often used for this purpose, so I would imagine that MDF would be just as good if not better than plasterboard for resisting moisture, hence my question. Obviously there is a big difference in cost between MR MDF and MDF especially when there are multiple windows to consider. Is sealing standard MDF with a moisture resistant paint an option perhaps?
