"The Ditch website revealed today that Mr Troy had sold a second house, and last week the site reported that Mr Troy had failed to detail the sale of his house at Mullingar’s Ashfield estate to Westmeath County Council for €230,000 in June 2018 in his declaration of interests.

The sale price of the house to the Westmeath council was between €30,000 and €50,000 greater than other properties selling in the same estate at the time.

No other house in the development has sold for more than €211,000 in the interim."

AAh, sure it's great. Your local council just giving ya 50k more than they need to. And even now, at current sky high artificial prices, haven't got within 19K of price paid in 2018.

If only they were given a handbook explaining all the rules for TDs when they get in. At this stage there needs to be a Mandatory 2 week course out of hours to educate TDs on filling out forms. Seems odd though they all never have an issue filling out expenses forms. Never forget about them do they.

Somebody in Westmeath Coco executive approved this purchase. If they did indeed overpay by 30-50k, that is surely the main story here. They are either grossly incompetent or corrupt, more likely the former. The failure by Troy to declare the interest could be a genuine mistake but it'd be understandable if people became suspicious about corruption given the overpayment.

What to me is really suspicious is the County Council have no record of approaching Troy first about buying the property.

What also has my inner Columbo tingling is why Troy always insisted the rent was paid in cash?

If these two issues can be answered with a perfectly valid explanation then there is nothing to see here. However I don't this will happen and as more and more FG members come out to defend Troy, more revelations are drip fed. Why is MM and FF staying silent?

in N.B. at the bottom of the form, in big block capital letters FAILURE TO BE COMPLIANT FROM THE MOMENT THIS DECLARATION IS SIGNED WILL RESULT IN A FINE AND IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION FROM ANY POST OF RESPONSIBILITY.

I think your correct, they are playing a blinder, every time there's a new excuse, deflection, they release more info, I suspect they've something big and just waiting to pounce.
