    Hi all .

    My over 11 year old laptop has started to become unreliable. Upon powering up, the screen lights up to black screen, and will not fully boot up.

    I have tried taking out the battery and re inserting same, has n't worked.

    Powering off the laptop, and trying to fully recharge the battery - Hasn't worked.

    I was told by a computer technician, upon testing the battery that the battery is 50% worn . This is a replacement battery purchased over 2 years ago.

    Any suggestions for a fix?
