Smart tv question

    Havent bought a TV in over 10 years but in the market for one soon, thinking of going LG as they seem to get good reviews.

    Its mainly to watch sport so what specs do I need to look out for, I think the Hertz refresh rate is the important bit, what is a minimum needed to have a clear picture when watching sport? Are there any other specs I should be checking and making sure it hits a minimum

    Also regarding NowTV, if the TV doesnt have the app preloaded is there a simple way to download it, ie is the Play store available through these smart tvs directly or could you only get Nowtv using a stick

    Finally I want to buy a soundbar too but just looking at modern tvs the bezel frame is almost non-existant and a sound bar below the tv on the same tv stand looks like it could be tall enough to get in the way of the tv, is this a problem to watch out for?

    Personally I like Android TV - gives you access to optimised versions of Google playstore apps. I'm not sure if it's the case with all android TVs but I can have terrestrial and satellite channels on the same epg on my Philips OLED and very easy to add/delete/reorder channels. IPTV and bbc iplayer both work grand via apps so no need for a firestick etc. Personally I like OLED but doesn't get a bright as lcd so depends on your room/budget. I really can't tell the difference between high and low refresh rates but some people can so I guess check it out before you buy.

    Stands are definitely getting lower to the point where a lot of sound bars block the bottom of the screen - seems odd as the same manufacturers often sell both. My TV's stand was too low but wall mounted so not a problem.
