Banks raising Fixed Mortgage rates?

I see that ECB are raising their rate by .75% and was reading an article saying how tracker mortgages would be affected straight away but that Irish banks were yet to decide whether to increase rates on variable and fixed rates mortgages.

Is it in the small print that they can change your interest rate on a ‘fixed’ mortgage?…..seems a bit strange or maybe I’m taking it up wrong.

Zero chance of them not marking fixed rates up for the new customers, the jumps are too big

It was this type of misunderstanding that caused the tracker issue.

If you have a fixed rate mortgage at present, it CANNOT be changed by the bank

The report is stating that fixed rates on offer for NEW fixed rate agreements are going to be changed.

New drawdowns. For those with loan offers, I'm wondering when the new rates will kick in and in some cases would some offers be withdrawn?

It's the rate on the day of drawdown.

Sometimes they allow some leeway.

Yes indeed, they'll have a cut-off date for the older rates, but will the new rates lead to any reconsideration of loan offers by the lender?
