Christmas Adverts 2022

Saw the Guinness and the coca cola (trucks) one once each... expect we'll see more of them the closer we get to Christmas now.

Seeing the Dunnes Stores adverts all the time though, more than any other easily.

I don't think I've seen the Dunnes one this year, but I've seen the Amazon and McDonalds ones quite a few times.

So, what was the stand out from the 2022 Christmas adverts crop for you?

I liked the Aldi, Kevin the Carrot home alone parody & amazon snow globe ones, personally found the John Lewis one a 'anytime of year' advert & even the McDonalds one a tad bland after a few years of good ones.

IMO one of the weaker returns in terms of memorable adverts.

Will be first to admit that I don't watch much TV so do etc to see all the ads on the big screen, however nothing jumped out at me so would concur was a weak enough year in that regard.

Aldi was the only standout one for me, after getting bored of Kevin the Carrot I found 2022's Ad very good.

Agreed John Lewis was definitely anytime of year kind of ad and the McDonalds one was very poor. No surprise standouts either which was very disappointing. Dunnes and Supervalu need to update their ads, both are annoying and not worth repeating every year.

Have said it a few times, the Dunnes advert that was replaced by the current one was far superior, would have preferred had they simply kept that one.

It was the one with the Father re-gifting the book he'd received from his dad to his daughter.

The only ones that stood out for me this year were the Snow Globe one for Amazon (I think) and the Spar ad, I liked how they turned everything in a Christmas tree. But I agree, all in all, a poor year for the Christmas ads.

They even ruined the Spar ad, murdering the original Ravonettes Christmas song. 🎄

I agree, a poor year- lots of repeats, like the Dunnes kids having no regard for the national grid and the Supervalu children roaring at a frightened animal.

Did anybody see Woodies Mrs Higgins this year? I actually liked that one, but didn't see it.

John Lewis, as usual, was blah (I've said before that they're a victim of their own success) and McDonalds was awful. What kind of child has a Christmas list longer than James Joyce's Ulysses?!

I'm actually struggling to remember the boots, m&s, lidl, and a few others from this year, they were all so forgettable, such a shame. Weakest crop for a good while.

I actually like the Vodafone one with the Dad going swimming and the daughter off abroad. Always reminds me of the Christmas I was in Oz.
