Something to be aware of. Old 50s and 20s won't be useable after end of September.

Get rid before its too late.

You can post them across and get a bank transfer.

you won't be able to use them in retail stores, but you can pop into main postoffices and almost all bank branches in the UK and they will swap them out if its only a few. I've done this a couple of years after the £5 & £10 change.

If you have a lot, you can send them to the bank of england and they will transfer the fund back to you

They will NEVER be worthless

Anyone done this anywhere? AIB and Credit Unions this week told me their deadline to do this has long passed. Try posting them to the Bank of England!

You can always exchange withdrawn notes with us by post.

Be aware the banknotes are sent at your own risk. So please take appropriate measures to insure against loss or theft.

Please complete a postal exchange form for individuals or businesses (available below). Send it with your banknote(s) and photocopies of ID (one photo ID and one proof of address) for any exchange (mandatory for any exchange of £700 or more) to Department NEX, Bank of England, Threadneedle Street, London EC2R 8AH. To check what we accept please see ‘Identification and proof of address’ below. Please do not send original ID documents in the post to us.

We can pay your money into a bank account (normally within ten working days), by cheque or, if you live in the UK and your exchange is worth up to £300, in new banknotes. We do not send banknotes overseas.
