Ending Paternity Leave Early

I took the full 7 week paternity leave. 2 weeks paid, 5 weeks unpaid.

Am I entitled to go back to work before the 7 weeks is up?

Can the company refuse to let me come back before the 7 weeks is up?

There may be no legal issues with it but from an optics perspective, your company might be hesitant letting you come back early as it may send out a signal it doesn't take paternity leave seriously (which is still a relatively recent employee benefit for many companies) if fathers are brought back early...even if it was the father that instigated it. I think this is one you should contact your HR dept directly about to discuss.
