Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Installing a Replacement Oil Boiler - Flexible Hoses

My oil boiler is some 25 to 30 years old & I need to replace it with a new condensing boiler, of similar output. It's a regular boiler (not system or combi). It is located externally, in a PVC coated steel, insulated cabinet.

A plumber friend of mine will install the new boiler and I will get an approved installer to check everything out and commission it.

All the pipework & the circulating pump are located within the cabinet - the pipework comes in underground and then up into the boiler (within the cabinet). No exposed pipework outside the cabinet. I hope to keep this arrangement with the new boiler.

Of course, where the pipes emerge into the cabinet does not line up with the new boiler connection points. To avoid excavating concrete, is it it OK to use flexible hoses to connect the boiler to the existing pipework? If it is OK, it will certainly simplify the job.

If it is OK to use flexible hoses, is there a particular brand of hose which would be the best to use?

    Thanks, in advance.
