Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Taxback.com? Attempting to register as my tax agent with Revenue.

I filled out a 'Call Back' form on the homepage of taxback.com's website.

A few minutes later I got an email from them with a Revenue Authorization (A2) form pdf and a Revenue Authorization (ALN) form pdf attached and filled out.

Along with a note saying they are going to register as my tax agent with Revenue using the attached forms.

I entered my PPS, e-signed and ticked the terms and conditions box when i applied for a callback. So i'm not saying these guys did anything illegal.

However, I was a little surprised, to fill out a form for a callback and then receive an email saying this crowd will be registering as my tax agent.

I've filed a complaint with the IAASA. Be careful when dealing with this lot!

It certainly seems a bit presumptuous to send the forms that early, but I imagine they need it so they can view your tax information and advise you on the refund.

Did you read the terms and conditions?

What did you think you were signing for, if not to engage their services?

    Where's the issue.

They told you what you were signing, you signed.

I think the fault is in the mirror

I had assumed i was entering my details for a callback. Like i would with any other website.

I didn't realize they would automatically take my details and register themselves as my tax agent. This is a new business, there is no filing with revenue for them to examine. I've just registered for Income Tax with revenue a moment ago after registering my company name with the CRO.

I already have an accountant who is registered as my tax agent. I approached many other accountancy firms, none of them automatically registered themselves as my agent.

I clicked the T&Cs box and the Authorization Terms box. Did i read the Terms and Conditions beforehand? No.

It just seems strange to me - that's all! My present accountant met me in person before getting my go-ahead to be my registered tax agent. A phone call first, in this instance, might have been nice!
