Did the installer not instruct you how to use it?

Instruction book would be handy -did you not get one?

If using eco ovoids , make sure they’re for stoves and not open fire.

The bilberry is totally different to the anvil as you’re seeing. My parents have the anvil and load it up with anthracite, you could roast the devil on it, it gets that hot. That bilberry stove looks more modern, they generally take less fuel, if you haven’t already you should try some ovoids in it. As for the levers one is for the main airflow and one for air wash. Difference here is that the main flow will allow lots of air in from the damper so it’ll fly up the chimney when fully open. The air wash sucks the flame up the glass, it’s not as ferocious a draft, it’s supposed to keep the glass clean, in my experience it doesn’t work. I’d suggest to move both fully to the left and then adjust one along till you’re all the way to the right, then return it to the left and do the same with the other lever. You’ll soon learn what each does and how they affect the fire when burning.
