Someone posted a link for a place that sells the 5.5kw sunsynk hybrid but can't find it.

    Anyone can share it pls?

That was it alright. Expensive though. Far more than Kelliher's charged for them.

Cheers, called Kelliher's earlier, they ran out and only do Huawei now🤮

    Hi lads,

I hope some one with a sunsynk inverter can help me or it´s because I'm doing something wrong.

My installer has finished the installation today, but we are not able to configure it properly.

Can anyone confirm me that the AC Load is always 240v? i was thinking the at AC Load was 240v when we were losing the grid, but i can always getting 240v with grid or without grid…. what am I missing?

Not quite sure what you are talking about, can you share a screenshot?

we have 3 inputs, GRID, LOAD and GEN.

when it´s working tied to the grid the house is powered via GRID, then I was expecting the inverter have 0v in the LOAD side.

when we are losing GRID the relay inside the inverter should change power to the LOAD and I should see 240v in the LOAD side and 0v in the GRID side.

The problem that I have is I'm always measure 240V in the LOAD output.

it's labeled LOAD, but it´s AC Backup as far as i know..

Always 240v on the load side if battery connected, it's for essential loads.

ok, I have my change over switch wired to the LOAD and GRID, so I'm guessing will be fine, since RCBO I have on the LOAD port is tripping all the time when is up, so I need to make an extra step to be off grid, move the change over to position offgrid and then arm the RCBO in the load.

Now second issue, I've a microinverter connected to 3 panels on the gen port of the sunsynk, I was thinking the production of those 3 would go to the battery or in case the battery is full, to the house or to the grid, but it's looks like it goes to the LOAD? if it goes to the LOAD port I've got a problem, because my understanding of the LOAD was like a AC Backup which is not. Is any configuration I'm missing? try to find some information on the net but no joy :(

    Thank you

For the first issue, the best way for us to help is to fully understand how you have this wired. Can you show a diagram of how it's set up?

For the second issue, go in to settings/auxiliary load and tick -for micro inverter input.

I think I've sorted all of the issues, the clamp was in the wrong position, and that was doing the inverter getting crazy and doing weird things.

    Thanks for the tips lads.

Does anyone have a Sunsynk automation example that they can post or link to for Home Assistant that support exporting from battery based on SoC after midnight?

I can do it manually, but it would be great if it could be automated using HA.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,159 ✭✭✭championc

    Here you go

It's fairly self explanatory. Each hour, it checks if the SOC is above the limit for that hour, and if so, force discharge

    @championc
Thanks for that it looks like what is required. Unfortunately I am getting an error, which I think is related to indentation, which may have been removed via boards….

Can you upload the file with indentations or post an image?….TIA

For ref: error is below (a search suggested indentation)
Message malformed: required key not provided @ data['action']

Deye / Sunsynk telling us porky pies about the components!

I wonder, would there be any interest in Deye SE-G5.1 Pro B 5.1kWh batteries at €1000-1200? They're compatible with both Sunsynk and Deye inverters. I'm thinking of sourcing some and likely to have spare capacity on the pallet.

€1000 for a pre-made 5kWh Deye battery is pretty good value. But remember a 15kWh Seplos kit is just £1995

Out of interest, what BMS comes in those Deye packs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 dmirog

I was curious but haven't been able to find out which BMS they use. Although it works out more expensive than Seplos or self build, they're on approved battery list for both Deye and Sunsynk so will get support from the inverter manufacturer if any issues.

I've been told the cells are EVE. And according to some tests the actual available capacity is 98% rather than 90% listed in the spec sheets.

For those with HA automation, here is my yaml to force discharge the battery up to 02:00. I have amended it so that if the option to export (or stop exporting) has been set, then it won't continue to repeatedly try and set the same option. It's just another layer of nexted IF's.

    Might be useful to someone

How are people dealing with neutrals and earths?

Can I have common neutral and common earth and leave out the contactor for the earth bond?

Or do I need to isolate neutrals between critical load consumer unit and main consumer unit and use a contactor for the earth bond?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,183 ✭✭✭allinthehead

Mine are common for my critical loads and I left the neutral unswitched for the whole board changeover.

The only concern I had here was if something tripped out the inverter rcbo, it would leave my critical loads with a voltage between neutral and earth which I didn't like. As a precaution I wired in a contactor that joins the critical load neutral to the common neutral in the board if the inverter loses the grid, essentially bypassing the double pole rcbo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 paddy236

Can anyone see an issues with this layout?

I don't need whole board changeover so I'm just having changeover for my critical loads(pink box) in the event my inverter is out of service.

I'm tight for space on the top row of the CU with only 13 slots. I'll use a 2 slot changeover switch.

Is it recommended to swap out the garage and inverter MCBs for single pole rcbo? If I do this I would need to do as @allinthehead mentioned above and add a contactor to bridge the neutrals if the rcbo trips.

    Additional info:

Battery is 15kW with 200a jk bms.

My daily usage is usually <10kWh and only once I've exceed 5kW for a 5sec duration. I don't have data for the winter months so looking forward to tweaking the system if needed.

Can someone confirm the AC Grid breaker size as there are 2 different values given in the manual?

    4.7 says 40A and 4.13 says 63A.

  • Moderators, Home & Garden Moderators Posts: 6,209 Mod ✭✭✭✭graememk

AC MCB is to protect the cable.

So 6mm2 would be 40 amps max

Can someone screenshot me the deye meter settings and how you wired the modbus, what pins used pls I have the eastron meter sdm230 v2 and it's just dead, not sure if wired wrong it has power through it but the screen dead so not sure if a dud or wrong wiring.
