Pension tax relief limits

Hi I fall in the 20 per cent (30-40) bracket for tax relief on pension contributions. My employer contributes 10 per cent & the standard employee contribution is 4 per cent as part of the scheme. I'd like to clarify whether that leaves me with an additional 6 or 16 per cent that I can put towards AVCs i.e. Are employee contributions factored in the percentage limits or treated separately? Thanks

16% I believe. Employers contributions are ignored for this calculation.

p.s. You could double check with your scheme admin.
