Its just fake lego- and not even reasonably priced one at that. Its not even an f1 car.

    not a bargain.

Cada Bricks (Double Eagle - doubleeagle-group.com) - Chinese fake lego manufacturer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGd88DxIfW4

It's not fake lego, it's bricks. Lego's main patents have long expired. CADA has lots of positive reviews, even if there are still reports of inconsistent quality, but they have many interesting original designs. Just watched several youtube reviews of the model in question here and according to them the quality is the same as that of the McLaren by lego, but it's a much better deal given the CADA costs only a fraction of the price, as long as you don't mind that it's not a copy of a real racer.

I agree people shouldn't immediately brand this stuff as just fake lego - there are lots of Chinese manufacturers making great brick sets at a fraction of the price of actual branded Lego.

Is it a bargain? I'd say it is good value for a set of that size and complexity. It's not some dinky thing, it's a 1,600 piece item. That's a few hundred more pieces than the Lego McLaren kit at less than half the price.

There are quite a few Star Wars models for example that are almost identical to the Lego models, but cost about 30 percent of the price. As long as you buy the right sets, the quality is pretty much on-par with Lego.

Just noticed there is an option on that page to get one with a motor - not sure if rc… makes it a bit more interesting.
