Qatar airways are claiming to give refunds on tickets which were cancelled due to Covid problems

I believe this is a scam in that they claim not to refuse to give a refund instead they ignore refund claims. Qatar airways ignore my e mails and hang up when i phone them

Now I believe by way of eu and or uk law qatar airways are not allowed to ignore FOI requests and are not allowed to lie when they answer said requests

The FOI request i want to make is ask them from nov 2021 till april 2022 how many claims for refunds based on Covid problems were paid and how many were rejected

Qatar Airways is not an Irish public body so you have no hope with an FOI request to them

As mentioned above, Qatar Airline isn't an Irish public body nor one with a significant shareholding on the part of the state.

FOI legislation applies to a specific and limited set of bodies, which are largely Governmental. It definitely does not cover Qatar Airways.

You could submit a Data Subject Access Request, which Qatar Airways would be subject to, but that only entitles you to information they hold that's directly related to you, not anybody else.

There is no legislation entitling you to the information you're looking for, as far as I know
