Bit unlucky with his attempted safety, was in bother there. Thought maybe plant was probably worth a try alright but result may well have been same anyway.

That was always a risky pot for Judd. Odds of getting on a colour were tiny. Ended up snookered.

Agreed plant was marginally easier I would have thought. Unlucky situation to end up in either way.

Rare to see Jimmy getting a little bit thick earlier with the ref. Although that referee Ben Williams does seem to wind some people up just with his manner. I think Ronnie had quite a coming together with him a few years ago.

I know Jimmy says this is very serious, not an exhibition and other players have their mortgages to worry about.

But when you think back to how Ray Reardon, John Spencer, Big Bill and Dennis Taylor used to mess around at the Crucible back in the day on the old BBC 'entertainer' montages. Maybe we are in danger of taking the game a little bit too seriously at times these days.

This third frame feels like a Club game at the moment.

That was huge... really had to dig deep there for the win. Very impressive!

Took those really well in the end i thought. Judds a good bit off so this is a chance you'd have to say. Of course, judd can flick it on again like a switch so not getting carried away just yet!

close to a situation there where it was almost impossible not to foul - cueball almost encircled by reds; has to have happened at some stage

Aaron's still getting bit of luck, which is always good 🤣

Lovely red to middle !! hon AAron

Thats a beautiful red to middle

All there for the taking now. 2 up with 3 to play.

That was solid. Trump looks nervous.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

Pity about the ton but no matter. He'll surely get at least one chance to finish it, you'd think, hope he can be clinical if or when it comes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭Sweet Talkin Romeo

Trump is only 5/4 v Aaron 4/7 according to layers

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭Sweet Talkin Romeo

    Watta red !

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

What a red that was! Hold your nerve now lad and you're there!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,460 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

    Oh another great red

2 pots away! Hopefully do nothing rash, let Judd have a go at something and see what he leaves.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,654 ✭✭✭Muppet Man

Wow... that yellow in the middle was ballsy... massive credit to Aaron. Huge win.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,460 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

Well deserved win. Great yellow at the end. He was smacking the ball nice and true. Great result for him there.

God am so chuffed for the lad. Played really well tonight, finished that pretty clinically too. Ok, Judd didn't really turn up tonight but you still got to go out and pot them, seen Judd and Ronnie take plenty of fellas with their b and c games so nothing at all should be taken away from Aaron on that score. First top 16 player he's beaten since Ronnie, let alone one of best in world, so fair to say it's been a while coming. Great talent and self belief there so hopefully see a bit more of this on a consistent level, starting next round v Tom Ford!

    WD Aaron 😁

must be one of a few matches what he's won playing live on telly

great to see - always thought he were only moderate meself; Joe Public knew - he always kept the faith !!

One Of Our Own is actually v good - been years 😄

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,311 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Quite a comprehensive win, 4-1. Super job.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

When he was shaping up for the yellow, I was thinking back to the pink he smacked into the middle when finishing off against Ronnie that time and was pretty confident he wouldn't miss.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭Sweet Talkin Romeo

that straight red - gotta be SOTC contender for sure

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭Sweet Talkin Romeo

he certainly loves being on telly; stand him in good stead that tbs

    hon AARON !!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,654 ✭✭✭Muppet Man

Really great post match interview. He's totally pumped. Thrilled for him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

In fairness it's hard to say with any of these young guys how far they'll go. Aaron was exceptional as a junior, though, and has a great belief and work ethic in himself, so I'd always be hopeful he has a decent future in the game, top 16 at least and take it from there. Still think it might take him a year or two to fully establish himself yet, mind, but it's an endurance marathon rather than a sprint these days so no great rush. Leone Crowley is another very decent one so while we don't have big numbers here, we do have some decent quality to take it into the future at least.

On the other hand, shité, petulant and disrespectful interview by Judd. Accredited much of Hill’s win down to ‘luck’… which is bôllocks, he hardly missed a ball and played a nice consistent safety game.

poor by Judd, walking away from the interviewer too.

Judd having a sulk, quite clear that Hill played better than him, he should of been called on it by the panel but they said nothing, cowardly.
