Medical services for older North Cork residents

I'm planning a move from Dublin to North Cork (country around Fermoy/Mitchelstown area). My mother is in her 70s and is concerned if she comes to live near me she won't have access to proper medical services. I think this is silly because there are plenty of doctors in Fermoy and Cork isn't too far away. But for folks…

I think this is silly because there are plenty of doctors in Fermoy and Cork isn't too far away. But for folks living in the area who either are older or have parents who are, how have you found it getting around to regular doctors and specialists?
