Not just that, pretty much every Irish forward caught running back failed to even attempt a tackle as the ball cris-crossed them. Looked dreadful.

Casey is getting f*ck all help from the forwards. The pack as a unit are having a terrible game.

Excellent try by Frawley, finally the passes actually stick!

That try was made by Hume.

    Beautiful hands from Hume-Prendergast-O'Toole.

Yeah. But he has still been caught far too much after picking up the ball.

The pack hasn't been great but he needs to be bettter

Big thing is get to half time without conceding again, this team needs a serious talking to at the break.

Wasn't notably late, was an attempt to wrap and wasn't high. Penalty fine but a penalty, a yellow and deny a try? Harsh to me.

38 mins before the first box kick. That's my kind of game.

    Frawley doesn't look 100%

Typical NZ play, playing on the edge and getting away with it, offside at every ruck, we need to stand up to them and not take their dirty ****, and protect our scrum half.

    Enjoyable half.

New Zealand much more clinical and much of that down to McKenzie and Perenara really pulling the strings. AB's pack a bit more dynamic, were not punching holes and losing gainline in possession (which is where the pressure is coming on Casey from).

Bit more guile from our halves and a bit more composure and we're more in this. Only worry from my perspective is a bit of a lack of urgency, one or two kick chases haven't been chased, we've given the outside line on the last man around the fringes which is work rate more than anything. The try called back for the AB's was down to a better chase and their defence for Frawleys' try was more desperate than anything we've shown.

Need heads back into the game for the second half to keep it respectable. AB halves are going to turn us inside out otherwise.

No attempt to wrap, in the side and late.

Yellow all day. Complete cheap shot.

The intensity from NZ is great, real test for a lot of Irish players who have aspirations of higher callings

Some decent flashes from the backs, Osbourne, Hume. Casey's passing has been inconsistent. Coombes disappointing, especially that effort on the breakaway try

casey needs to get the NZ shooters to check themselves. They are timing him perfectly and cutting off the ball going wide and sending frawley into traffic.

    Loughman has cian Healy sweating.

He's playing perfectly like Farrell wants his props playing

If casey gets stripped again lifting the ball in the ruck he should get called ashore

Nash with a terrible missed tackle.

I dont what they've been doing in training all week and thought this performance would be anywhere close to good enough, genuinely have they got anything right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,454 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

    That was abysmal defending

Very good half from NZ. They look a lot more cohesive than I expected. Casey has been Ireland's best player but he is getting no help from his forwards. I'm a fan of Coombes, Prendergast and Timoney but if they want to be test regulars, they need to be doing a lot more than they are.

Damien Mackenzie bossed that half. Hope to see more of Love in the broken field.

    Very harsh yellow.

    Another injury to Frawley ffs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,736 ✭✭✭Shehal

Getting turned over at the breakdown by scrums half's now...**** hell. You can cry about physicality til the cow's come home but if you cant protect you're ball to the extent a SH can turn you over then even Jesus cant save you.

Thought Frawley was very poor tonight. Very predictable.

Pack are outgunned. NZ know that all Irelands passes are going out the back of the pod.

Boks are going to try and do exactly the same tomorrow.

    Good test for crowley here.

He should probably have started. If he had done what he has done in the last two months in a blue jersey then he would have.

Hopefully the pack can give a better platform

The bitter contingent out I see.

    Have some shame
