Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

    Apologies for the long message.

My 4 y/o daughter has been suffering with long term respiratory problems including regular bouts of a croup like cough. She has yet to receive any diagnosis.

Along with this she has had an egg allergy which seems to have resolved. She has had 2 moderate reactions to products containing peanut, one from a health bar and the latest, only yesterday, to an Aldi mini muffin. Immediately on eating it she had a bout of coughing, red face, runny nose and vomited up the food she ate. This product on examination of the recipe contained wheat and peanut.

She has an epi pen as a precaution as we await an appointment with an allergy specialist. While I do not want to overreact I am looking for advice onto how best proceed. Should I be worried and would anyone recommend any other course of action, a private consultation for example. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Products she has reacted to include

    Pringles

    Health bar containing peanut

    Aldi mini muffin

    Snax

    Tayto

Just occurs to to me that those are all "extras" and containing ?? additives?? Try writing out the ingredients of each and seeing what they have in common? I had to do that with my own allergies and it was always the treats and what we call "junk" food" that were at fault. Flavourings... cut out these for a few days?

Something that can contribute to a twitchy immune system is low vitamin D status. If, as many of us did, you follow the conventional advice on sunscreen use then this can be an issue. Also, in consultation with the allergy specialist, you could look at the possibility of supplementing with Quercetin which can help to dampen allergic response.
