Group G and H look most competitive. Group B toss up between Mensur and Whitlock for 2nd

Great news..we can enjoy the darts now and not have to listen to sky bang on and on about her

The Grand Slam has really lost it's interesting angle with no BDO or WDF players involved. Instead it's padded out with fodder who all get knocked out in the group stages. Once we reach the second round then it's just yet another matchplay event. It also has the stupid situation of players who were in the same group potentially meeting again in the Quarter Finals.

I never thought I'd say this but I think there's too much darts in TV these days. the non-ranking events really need to be scrapped.

On the darts, I think Sky are probably delighted that Barney got through as it gives them a nice story. There hasn't been too many shocks otherwise bar Price potentially going out.

Not even playing tonight and there was full on discussion just now. She's moaning about her "haters", Sky going with the jealous trolls angle.

I wish she'd just go away, she's crap and only there because of her gender.

At least Lisa has a bit of class about her.

Mensur S is unwatchable, horrible horrible stuff. Sooner he’s out the better!

I read the interview, she was complaining that people were cheering when Beau hit the 148 against her. She didn't seem to have a problem with Mensur and Evetts getting booed out of Ally Pally.

I never had a problem with Fallon just Sky and PDCs promotion of her but that interview shows she's an idiot. A spoilet brat.

What a performance from Ross Smith

Wright out, missed two darts to go through and then limped out

Josh Rock is special. Can't wait for Thurs night now

Danny Noppert wouldn’t be my favourite player by any stretch of the imagination but have to feel sorry for him tonight. Unlucky to lose that but Price has balls of steel!

Looks like a very poor/small crowd tonight?

9 darter from Rock. Some going

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

What a game that was with MvG and Rock. MvG needed to be at his best to beat him. Rock is special.

Just a word on Johnny Clayton. What the hell has happened to him? Alarming rate of decline now, his averages over the last while must be a concern to him. Seems to have lost that X-Factor.

No one is coming close to MvG in winning this thing if he playes anyway near what he did tonight.

Think Price beats MvG, Price will get to him unlike Rock

I'd have to disagree. Price hasn't been great, he can't heep relying on 150+ checkouts to win him games. MvG is all business in this tournament, can tell he really wants it.

Think Joe Cullen beats Smith tonight and Price will wear down Barney but it won't be as easy as the odds suggest.

Poor quality QF there, Souttar would have won it if he could have hit D18

    Lot of missed doubles tonight.....

Humphries has a lovely action. I don't think many would argue this.

It's his approach and stance at the oche that has me musing.

The frontal upright approach, toe only touching leaves him a lot further away.

I was never a good player and "monkey see, monkey do" played with foot side on to the oche and a lean forward getting closer to board.

Luke's approach to the oche lends itself to longer hours of practice perhaps but I guess what I'm asking is would coaches actively promote Luke's "foot at 90 degrees to oche/frontal" method for young talent?

Brilliant game this is. Smith missing lots of doubles. Another major final for him hope he can finally win one tonight
