Folders missing in USB

    I am a an innocent with technology. never understand anything.

    A while back a number of folders went missing-disappeared- from my USB stick. I was all in a panic. Could not understand where they went to all of a sudden. However I had them on One Drive backed up Thank GOD.

    It has happened again today. About seven folders have disappeared. I was only working on the first two of them but the other five disappeared too.

    Why is this happening? What is the matter ? I am especially concerned as I did not even open the five that went also.

    What am I doing wrong? Where are they? And how come when this happened before they returned the next day?

    Would I be removing the USB stick too quickly?
