Looking for a Dolby Atmos Soundbar with 7.1 / 9.1 Speaker System. Budget around 500 euro.

I have a 50" TV which is in a small living room. I had an Onkyo AV Receiver + 5.1 Speaker system (HT-S4505) earlier which I bought from Richer Sounds. But very difficult to manage as all the speakers were wired and bit difficult to manage. Also the sound quality was not that good (boomy bass and bad dialogue clarity).

So I am thinking about buying a good Dolby Atmos Sound Bar with 7.1 / 9.1 channels. I am an music and movie lover.

Req#1 My budget is around 500 euro. I would like crisp clear dialoges with deep bass.

Req#2 I would need the system to produce all the channels with out using rear speakers or using wireless rear speakers. Prefer a sound bar system with just the soundbar + 1 subwoofer, capable of producing multichannel sound effects.

Req#3 I have a couple of devices like Android TV Box, BluRay Player, etc which i would need to connect these systems with the soundbar. So there should be atleast 2 or 3 HDMI IN ports.

Can you please help me to select a system I should go for. Thanks...

I don't think I have any 7.1/9.1 soundbars for around that budget unfortunately.

Stating point would be a 5.1.2 Atmos soundbar the Samsung Q800B but you are looking at 749 Euro (only has one HDMI input though)

Next up is the LG SN9YG 5.1.2 priced at 849 Euro. (again just the one HDMI input) - (Currently pending Stock)

To be honest it is very rare for Soundbar to have more than 1 or 2 HDMI inputs as they use HDMI ARC or eARC. So everything would be connect to the TV and then one HDMI (ARC) between the TV and soundbar.

There is one 3.1.2 soundbar within budget:

Samsung Q600B 3.1.2 coming in at 499 Euro (Again only 1 HDMI input)

Ok, Can you suggest an AV receiver + speaker system with wireless rear speakers then, around this price range? A combi that doesnt have the drawbacks of the Onkyo AV Receiver + 5.1 Speaker system (HT-S4505) I had previously?

The only amps that will allow you to use wireless rears would be the Yamahas with the Musiccast speakers but I'm sold out of most of the amps and all of the Musiccast speakers and we are still waiting for more coming in.

The only amp I would have in stock at the moment that would do it would be the Yamaha RXA6A at £1949!

Sorry over my budget. I would wait though.

I think JBL BAR 1000 would serve most of my requirements. Or I would go for a entry level AV receiver + Speaker package with clear dialogue / speach enhancement technology.

In your opinion would the "Yamaha YHT1840" better than the JBL BAR 9.1?

Hi Testlink.

The YHT1810 is a great value for home 5.1 home cinema and does sound well.

The Onkyo you mention is only a 5.1.2 speaker pack and does not include an amplifier.

I have not heard the Bar 9.1 unfortunately as it has not been one we have stocked so far.

In my opinion you will always get a better sound quality from a home cinema setup over a soundabr set up at the same price bracket.

You can not unfortunately connect wireless rears to this as it does not have the musiccast on Board to be able to do so.

The first A/v Receiver in the Yamaha range to have this would be the RXV4 coming in at 479 Euro delivered

You could pair this wirth the 5 star reviewed wharfedale DX2 5.1 speaker pack coming in at 379 Euro

Then when it came to moving to wireless rears you can leave out the 2 rear speaker speakers from the DX" pack and add in the below.

The Musiccast 20 speaker can be used as rears with the RXA4. They are coming in at 249 Euro but are currently out of stock.
