Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tyres with "DT" (Different Tread Design) ok to buy?

    Hi there,

I'm looking at a set of Michelin tyres (Primacy 4). I plan to buy them online and get fitted locally.

Looking on Oponeo and they have are the same tyre listed a few times at different prices. One set of the Primacy 4 is tagged with "TD" that is cheaper, and one set of the same tyre, but without the "DT" and slightly more expensive.

"DT" seams to mean "Different Tread Design, 2 different traction patterns on the thread". I've Googled a lot, and watched a few YouTube vids, but I'm none the wiser as to what this actually means.

Are these "DT" tyres ok to purchase? Would you put them on your car? (Here's a link to give an example).

In a separate questions, I see some tyres sold tagged with "Demo". The "Demo" ones seem more clear, the tyres have been mounted to a display car previously and perhaps driven "a few" kilometers. They seem ok to buy right?

Thanks for any help to understand this a bit better!

DT means a slightly different thread design from the normal design. It may be a special design for OEM purposes, performance tweeking etc. If you are buying 4, its no issue. If buying 2, put them on the same axle. Avoid buying 1.
