Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was very sorry to learn earlier today of the death of the rather wonderful, insightful and charismatic employment solicitor Richard Grogan.

Richard for a long time was known in addition for his own work in the field of employment law, to be a star of the social media app TikTok. Where he routinely answered questions from the public there and provided general insight relating to Irish employment law…he gave brief pointers, examples and indeed more detailed advice, advising and pointing people in the right direction as to how to solve legal and employment problems in their workplace. Not taking either side per say just giving a legal perspective and a view to people finding a solution…

‘Because, that’s the law and that’s a fact’ was his catchphrase that he signed off each upload…. He’d very suddenly began to look and sound quite unwell in recent weeks but always took the opportunity to contribute some assistance which while always diligently professionally delivered, always had an air of his good humour and mischief too, right to the last.

Seemed like one of the good ones, he’ll be missed.

So very sorry to hear this sad news having been acquainted with Richard for many years.

One of his many classical gems of advice on air related the issue of working at home in the context of Covid-19. Apparently, working from home was definitely out if you had a spiral staircase and you intended to work from there. Who knew ? Richard did.......

Well played Richard and may you rest in peace.
